Before emerging as a modern and elegant residential building, the site housed three vacant warehouses, in an advanced state of degradation, which, over the years, lost their usefulness and became silent witnesses to the passage of time. 

The decay of these warehouses told a story of abandonment, but also contained a latent potential for renewal. 

In a privileged location, in the historic center of Lagos, next to the medieval castle wall, this House benefits from the proximity of the river, the bay and some of the city's most emblematic monuments.   

The revitalization of this space proved to be a unique opportunity to harmonize contemporary needs with the rich cultural heritage of the region. The demolition will give way to a single-family house spread over three floors, preserving a patio that revives the essence of the old backyards, and surprisingly, a rooftop swimming pool, adding a modern touch to the tradition.  

The constant connection with the outside on all floors aims to maximize panoramic views, but also to create a harmonious fusion between the interior and the surrounding natural scenery, providing a unique experience of interaction with the beauty of the bay.

The architectural proposal was led by the harmonious search for user privacy, the sustainability of the construction and sensitivity to the surrounding landscape. 

In this context, we chose to incorporate hollow elements (cobogós), which provide a balance between protecting privacy in the interior space, promoting the entry of natural light and ventilation, and, equally important, giving a feeling of lightness to a sober architectural volume that is carefully integrated into the surrounding environment. 

This approach reflects a commitment to functionality, aesthetics and sustainability, resulting in a unique symbiosis between form and function.
