Sagres House is located in an urbanized area between the N268 and Praia da Baleeira, in Sagres. It is situated in a predominantly residential area, on a corner plot with a trapezoidal shape, which allows the construction of semi-detached houses. 

The geographical orientation of the terrain allowed the house to be naturally lit on the three elevations, which have generous lighting spans. 

The implantation design was achieved in a natural way, imitating the pre-existing alignments of the urban plan and merging into a design with tension lines that dialogue among themselves and give identity and personality to the project. 

The housing programme was distributed over 3 floors: basement with garage, laundry and storage rooms, ground floor with social areas and kitchen in "open-space", but with the possibility of closing it with removable panels, and a support sanitary installation; the first floor is composed of 3 bedrooms, one of which is en-suite and has a private balcony.

The connection between these spaces is made through a staircase located in the entrance area of the house, designed to give a point of visual interest in one of the tops of the living room and the main entrance of the house. 

This staircase is flanked by a set of wooden structural props, which simultaneously support the steps and serve as railings for the flight of stairs leading to the basement.  

The volumetric design consisted in recreating the concept of "excavated rock" and allowing the user to enjoy the outdoor spaces in a manner protected from the winds and sun, characteristic of this part of the Algarve. 

Thus, both on the ground and first floor, spaces and balconies have been created that welcome and shelter the user of the house. 

The architecture of the house allows a total opening between the interior and the exterior, the paths were conceived in order to provide the user with sensations of discovery between light and shade, full and empty. Discovery - eternally associated with Sagres - is one of the main elements of the house.
